This last few weeks have been quite an adventure! We had a lamb, I got a small gouge on my hand from a cat at work and it got super infected and my wholw hand and arm swelled up and turned red. Very dangerous condition and I just escaped a hospital visit due to my bloodcount still being normal so the doctor's just added a couple days of antibiotic shots to the oral antibiotics. Still on the antibiotics for a few more days. It is doing nicely but still not gone yet.
While I had this infection raging our Stallion decided to jump into the Ram's pen and he did him in most horribly. Don't know what bug got in his bonnet about that ram but he wasn't even going to leave the ram's horribly injured body alone when Rod came home to get the ram out of the pen. The ram did not survive.
The Friday after this infection got real bad I slipped on some wet sidewalk and fell and ripped the toenail off my big toe. Well it was nice that it was about 40 minutes before my doctor's appointment so after I soaked it at my mom's in ice water and wrapped it in a kleenex to keep it from bleeding all over the place, I let the doctor deal with it. He said I was on so many antibiotics that it wouldn't have a chance to get infected! But he did say do not remove the nail as it was still a bit attached and would heal better that way. Well I got a whole 5 days off work cause of it but that put me way behind. And I couldn't do very much either.
Sometime in the nite of 5-1/5-2 the foal was born and that was real exciting! It is so cute.
Got news that Rod's brother Harlan was going to have triple bypass surgery on wednesday that week. So Saturday the 6th we went up to see him in the hospital. He wonders why he feels so tired??? Duh!!! You just had major, major surgery we reminded him. A very active man of 70 who does not slow down much is finding it hard to just lay there and recover. He will do it cause his body will make him do it. We pray a lot for him. He has wonderful wife and daughter and granddaughter by his side most of the time. So lots of motivation to get better quick. It's spring and he is a farmer too!
That brings things up to date. Oh ya, I got another rigid heddle loom and a few other small things from a local weaver that was selling off her whole studio. Will have to put a pix up when I take one.
