Weekend Fun

Well I was going to post a pix or two but can't find them on the 'puter yet so will post those later. This last weekend was spent at Spirit of The West Festival just north of Sioux Falls, SD. A 3 day event where we dress and act a bit like we are back in the Civil War to late 1800's era's. This is the second year that a friend and I have been asked to participate as Demonstators. We set up our Bobbin Lace and I also bring along my spinning wheel and demo that. We get lots of time to wander about the grounds and enjoy the Festival too. This year it rained a lot the first day and then the wind started blowing the rest of the two days. We had to pack everything in the van late Saturday afternoon due to a nasty weather report of Tornadoes and high wind predictions. So everyone battened down whatever they could and brought vehicles and trailer's onto the grounds to provide wind breaks to protect the tents and things. The worst of the storm went around us, Thank God, as there were several farms in the area hit badly. A couple vendor's lost their tents and the next day there were a few less display's and vendors, but we did not close down. The weather was a bit nicer but windy and quite chilly. And I did manage to sell some of my vast overstock of fibers, (Hi Patience, hope you enjoy them) Overall it was a very nice weekend.
